[Kingdom Death Monster] Détour mortel

J'avance au fur et à mesure sur le contenu de la boite de base de Kingdom Death Monster. Pour cette session j'ai choisi les 4 survivants spéciaux incluant le Intimacy Couple plus le King's Man, The Hand et le Gold Smoke Knight.

J'ai expérimenté un peu sur les couleurs pour les chevaliers et je suis plutôt content du résultat de l'or sur le Gold Smoke Knight.

Il  ne me reste plus qu'à attaquer le Watcher et le Phoenix. Je ne toucherai pas les grappes des armures des survivants pour l'instant.

I'm making progress on the content of the basic box of Kingdom Death Monster. For this session I have chosen the 4 special survivors including the Intimacy Couple plus the King's Man, The Hand and the Gold Smoke Knight.

I experimented a little bit on the colors for the knights and I'm pretty happy with the result of the gold on the Gold Smoke Knight.

Now I just have the Watcher and the Phoenix left. I won't touch the survivors' armors sprues for now.

Cthulhu: Death may die [mais pas tout de suite]

Lors de la campagne de financement j'avais annulé ma participation notamment parce que la perspective de peindre les multiples orifices du dos de Cthlhu me filait des frissons, mais aussi parce que j'attendais d'autres projets. Les retours plutôt bons sur le jeu en lui-même m'ont poussé à revoir de plus près ce que proposais le jeu Cthulhu: Death May Die (CDMD). Pour l'instant je ne regrette pas un instant l'achat de cette version française. J'espère juste voir arriver un jour la saison 2 et les extensions de scénarios.

Pour ce qui est des figurines, le plastique utilisé présente une couleur mat très agréable. Les figurines sont très belles au sortir de la boite. Du coup j'ai voulu me contenter de peindre les héros pour les faire ressortir lors des parties et ne pas me préoccuper des monstres et autres cultistes...dans un premier temps.

Je pensais à tort que peindre des investigateurs anonymes serait ennuyant. Chaque personnages possède une particularité qui rend la peinture agréable.

During the fundraising campaign, I had cancelled my participation, mainly because the idea of painting the multiple holes in Cthlhu's back gave me the shivers, but also because I was waiting for other projects. The rather good feedbacks on the game itself pushed me to take a closer look at what Cthulhu: Death May Die (CDMD) was all about. So far I don't regret the purchase of this french version. I just hope to see one day the season 2 and the scenarios expansions.


As far as miniatures are concerned, the plastic used has a very nice matte color. The miniatures look very nice when they come out of the box. So I just wanted to paint the heroes to make them stand out during the games and not worry about monsters and other cultists...at first.


I wrongly thought that painting anonymous investigators would be boring. Each character features unique details that makes the painting enjoyable.


A very nice surprise.

Chtulu: Death may die

[Hauts elfes] Les confinés d'Ulthuan

Je voulais peindre cette année une de mes armées en stock pour Warhammer Battle. Confinement oblige je me suis dit que ce serait le moment pour peindre une telle quantité de figurine sans attendre deux mois entre chaque unité.

L'objectif principal était de peindre mes deux principales unité d'élite: les Lions Blancs de Chrace et la Garde Phoenix.

Ironiquement je suis tombé à court de bombes de peinture la semaine dernière (3 bombes de peintures pour être factuel) du coup je ne pourrais pas terminer l'armée pendant cette période de confinement mais l'objectif principal est validé.

Vous pouvez voir ci-dessous le résultat de mes sessions de peinture entre mi mars et fin avril 2020. 

Il me reste encore des guerriers fantômes, des archers classiques et les personnages de l'armée. En attendant de remettre la main sur une bombe de peinture je vais peindre les figurines d'autres gammes, déjà sous-couchées, qu'il me reste sur la table de peinture.

This year I wanted to paint one of my, still many, armies in stock for Warhammer Battle. Lockdown made me think that it would be the right time to paint such a large quantity of miniatures without waiting two months between each unit.

My main focus was to achieve the two main elite units; white lions and phoenix guards.

Ironically I ran out of paint cans last week (3 paint cans to be factual) so I will not be able to finish the army during the lockdown but the main objective is accomplished.

You can see below the result of my painting sessions between mid March and end of April 2020.

I still have shadow warriors, classical archers and all the characters left. In the meantime I will paint the miniatures of other ranges, already undercoated, that I still have left on the painting table.

[Blood Rage] Kickstarter Promos Box / Clan du Cerf

Blood Rage a fait un retour un peu inattendu l'année dernière avec une campagne de financement pour une version numérique du jeu. En parallèle du financement CMON proposait des récompenses physiques. Je ne pouvais pas dire non, j'adore ce jeu.

Résultat: une boite contenant des figurines alternatives de monstres exlusifs de la première campagne, des marqueurs pour remplacer les jetons en carton, un nouveau clan et l'extension Gods of Asgard en version augmentée et dorée. J'en ai également profité pour acquérir le tapis de jeu.

Côté jeu vidéo, j'ai pu lancer la version béta en début d'année et...c'est compliqué. Pour résumer, c'est graphiquement beau mais chargé et le jeu fidèle mais peu intuitif.

Passons.

Du coup, j'ai peint les nouveaux modèles, et ça fait plaisir.

Blood Rage made a somewhat unexpected comeback last year with a fundraising campaign for a digital version of the game. Along with the CMON fundraiser came physical rewards. I couldn't say no, I love this game.


As a result we have been offered a box containing alternative monster figurines from the very first campaign, markers to replace the cardboard tokens, a new clan and the Gods of Asgard expansion in an augmented and golden version. I also took the opportunity to purchase the game mat.


Regarding the video game side, I was able to launch the beta version at the beginning of the year and...it's complicated. To sum up, it's graphically beautiful but loaded and the game true to the rules but not very intuitive.


Let's move on.


So, I painted the new models, and it was a pleasure.
