Tainted Grail, la mort dans l'âme

J'avais besoin d'attaquer un projet de peinture un peu plus modeste. Et quoi de mieux que de de repartir sur un jeu de plateau? En route donc pour la peinture des figurines contenues dans la boite de base, l'extension contenant son lot de monstres additionnels. 

Chaque chose en sont temps. 

Je me suis donc chargé de peindre les 5 protagonistes (4+1 exclusive), les menhirs et à mi-chemin je me suis rendu rendu que je pourrais peindre également les pièces.

Niveau gravure cela reste honnête mais ce n'est pas la meilleure plastique que j'ai rencontré et certains détails peuvent être bouffés dans la masse. Cela devient génant lorsque cela concerne les visages, comme d'habitude (cf. Beor le forgeron). En jouant le jeu du contraste je suis quand même parvenu à obtenir un résultat qui me parait convenable en un temps plus que limité.

 

I needed to tackle a slightly more modest painting project. And what could be better than starting again with a boardgame? So let's go painting the miniatures contained in the base box. The expansion contains its own set of additional monsters. So I took care of painting the 5 protagonists (4+1 exclusive), the menhirs and halfway through I realized that I could paint the coins as well.

In terms of engraving it remains honest but it's not the best plastic I've encountered and some details can be eaten into the mass. It becomes annoying when it concerns faces, as usual (cf. Beor the blacksmith). By playing with the contrast I still managed to get a result that seems suitable to me in a more than limited time.

[Opération Guacamole & Tequila] Fin de l'aventure

"Ainsi se termine l'exploration de la Lustrie."

Comme annoncé la semaine dernière il ne me restait plus que 5 figurines à peindre pour finir ce projet. J'avais donc un état-major skink, 2 prêtres skinks et le seigneur Kroak à terminer. Autant je me suis lâché sur les couleurs des skinks mais en peignant rapidement, autant je suis resté sur une gamme standard et j'ai pris mon temps pour Kroak.

Mon aventure se termine ainsi sur cette gamme d'hommes -lézards d'un autre temps. Il a fallut faire des concessions pour garder le but en tête: peindre le tout dans un délai donné. J'ai dû changer des schémas de couleurs quand je voyais que le résultat ne me conviendrait pas mais sans trop tergiverser pour rester dans les objectifs.

Je n'avais pas pensé en janvier que je peindrai autant cette année mais le confinement a tout bousculé et en ayant du temps pour peindre, la motivation a su suivre.

 Il me reste donc maintenant une armée pour Warhammer battle dans les cartons. Une armée de coeur. Une armée de nostalgie.

Pas pour tout de suite cependant.

J'ai quelques boites qui attendent leur tour donc c'est l'heure de la pause pour les gros projets. Je pense d'ailleurs procéder autrement pour cette dernière armée.

As I announced last week, I only had five figures left to paint to finish this project. So I had a skink command, 2 skink priests and lord Kroak to finish. As much as I let go of the skinks colors but painted quickly, I stayed on a standard range and took my time for Kroak.

My adventure thus ends on this range of lizardmen from another time. It was necessary to make concessions to keep the goal in mind: to paint everything within a given time. I had to change color schemes when I saw that the result wouldn't suit me but without procrastinating too much to stay within the objectives.

I didn't think in January that I would paint so much this year but the confinement shook everything up and having time to paint, the motivation followed.

So now I have an army for Warhammer Battle left in the boxes. An army of hearts. An army of nostalgia.

Not for now though.

I've got a few boxes waiting for their turn so it's time to take a break with big projects. I'm thinking of doing things differently for this last army though.

Coming soon: some Awaken Realms, Modiphius and Games Workshop again.

 

Je gardais depuis un moment une boite en bois pour ranger un jour des figurines. C'est chose faite, pile la bonne taille pour tout contenir. Il ne me reste plus qu'à aller l'enterrer dans le sable.

 I've been keeping a wooden box for a while now to store figurines one day. It's done, just the right size to hold everything. Now all I have to do is bury it in the sand.

[Opération Guacamole & Tequila]Troisième partie - Peindre une armée d'Hommes Lézards Old School

je continue aujourd'hui avec la troisième étape de mon challenge. Je parlais de m'attaquer à des figurines massives, voici donc 3 Stégadons en métal blanc. Chaque équipage et monture est peint dans une teinte différente pour varier les plaisirs.

Ironiquement avec la chaleur actuelle la peinture est encore ce qu'il me reste comme activité la plus 'rafraichissante', ayant la chance de peindre dans une pièce à 25°C. Du coup j'ai continué sur ma lancée ce dimanche avec l'unité de gardes des temples. Je pensais d'abord la peindre en Terradon Turquoise mais le résultat obtenu sur un stégadon était loin de mes attentes pour cette teinte. Alors j'ai tenté autre chose. L'unité est peinte principalement avec la Contrast Space Wolves Grey et ajout de jus de lavis Druchii Violet, puis un brossage de Pallid Wych Flesh/Corax White. Très satisfait du résultat.

Enfin je voulais évité le syndrome de la grenouille verte pour le slann donc j'ai cherché un peu quelle couleur pourrait faire sortir la figurine du lot tout en restant sobre. Ce fut donc le Jokaero Orange qui fut choisi, éclairci au Lugganath Orange.

Finalement il ne me reste plus que 4 figurines à peindre donc le prochain article sera le dernier pour ce projet.

Si vous suivez cette série vous avez peut-être remarqué que le planning indiquait 4 stégadons. Eh bien en fait je disposais de deux de ces monstres en boite d'époque et après moultes tergiversations j'ai décidé d'en garder un pour ma collection, pour le plaisir de rouvrir cette boite dans quelques années peut-être, un peu par nostalgie. Je suis sûrement pas le seul à faire ça...si?

I 'm going on  today with the third stage of my challenge. I was talking last week about massive figurines, so here are 3 white metal Stegadons oop. Each crew and mount is painted in a different color to vary the pleasures.

Ironically with the current heat, painting is still the most 'refreshing' activity I have left, having the opportunity to paint in a 25°C room. So I continued on my way this Sunday with the temple guards unit. I first thought of painting them with Turquoise Terradon but the result obtained on a stegadon was far from my expectations for this colour. So I tried something else. The unit is now painted mainly with Contrast Space Wolves Grey with the addition of Druchii Violet wash juice, then brushed with Pallid Wych Flesh/Corax White. Very satisfied with the result.

Finally I wanted to avoid the green frog syndrome for the slann so I tried to find out what color could make the miniature stand out from the crowd while remaining sober. So it was the Jokaero Orange that was chosen, brightened with Lugganath Orange.

Finally I only have 4 miniatures left to paint so the next article will be the last one for this project.

If you follow this series you may have noticed that the schedule indicated 4 stegadons. Well actually I had two of these monsters in vintage box and after much prevarication I decided to keep one for my collection, for the pleasure of reopening this box in a few years maybe, a little bit of nostalgia here. I'm probably not the only one to do that...am I?

[Opération Guacamole & Tequila] Deuxième partie - Peindre une armée d'Hommes Lézards Old School

Un petit point sur l'avancée de cette semaine. Le rythme est maintenu et je suis parvenu à terminer ce que je souhaitais. Malgré tout je n'ai reçu qu'aujourd'hui les socles 40 mm pour harmoniser l'unité de terradons donc je vais commencer par ça cette semaine.

J'ai utilisé différentes nuances de vert pour ces unités. Kroxigors et sang froid ont gardé les mêmes teintes que mes skinks tirailleurs, à savoir Loren Forest et Elysian Green. En revanche j'ai utilisé du Moot Green sur les skinks de Tichi-Huichi et certains terradons. Quant aux pointeurs de salamandres j'ai appliqué un glacis de Waywatcher Green sur une sous-couche de Corax White. Sur les  chevaucheurs de Terradons je suis passé au Temple Guard Blue pour marquer leur allégeance aux cieux.

Il est temps de passé sur des figurines un peu plus imposantes.

A little update on this week's progress. The rhythm is maintained and I managed to finish what I wanted. However I only received today the 40 mm bases to harmonize the unit of terradons so I will start with that this week.

I used different shades of green for these units. Kroxigors and cold-blood ones kept the same shades as my skinks skirmishers, namely Loren Forest and Elysian Green. On the other hand I used Moot Green on the Tichi-Huichi skinks and some terradons. As for the salamander pointers I applied a Waywatcher Green glaze on an undercoat of Corax White. On the Terradon Riders I switched to Temple Guard Blue to mark their allegiance to the skies.

It's time to move on to more massive miniatures.
